San Diego, California, Minimum Wage Increasing to $16.85 for 2024

The hourly minimum wage in San Diego, California, will rise to $16.85 from $16.30 effective Jan. 1, 2024, according to a Sept. 29 update on the city’s website.

The city updated its official notice to reflect the increase. The notice is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Employers must post the notice where employees can easily read it.

Under San Diego’s minimum wage code, the minimum wage applies to employees who work at least two hours in the city in a week.
