The hourly minimum wage in San Mateo, California, will rise to $17.35 from $16.75 effective Jan. 1, 2024, according to a Sept. 26 update on the city’s website.
The city updated its minimum wage notice, poster, and frequently asked questions to reflect the increase. The documents are available in English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese. Employers must post the notice prominently at work sites where employees may easily read it, according to the city.
