The hourly minimum wage in Seattle, Washington, will rise to $19.97 from $18.69 effective Jan. 1, 2024, according to an Oct. 16 news release from the city’s office of labor standards.
The minimum wage applies to large employers, which are employers with at least 501 employees, according to the news release. It also applies to small employers with 500 or fewer employees that either do not pay at least $2.72 per hour toward employees’ medical benefits or have employees who do not earn at least $2.72 per hour in tips.
