Slovenian Government Proposes Measures Boosting Voters’ Income

Slovenian government proposes a mandatory tax-free Christmas bonus for employees, as well as loosening tax regime for the self proprietors, the Finance Minister Klemen Bostjancic says at a press conference in Ljubljana.

  • Proposed Christmas bonus would amount to at least 50% of minimum wage; aim is to be implemented as soon as this year
  • Proposed changes still need to be approved by parliament
  • NOTE: 5 employer organizations are against additional burdens to businesses such as the mandatory Christmas bonus, RTVSLO reports
