Several Ohio municipalities and school districts passed income tax rate changes during the state’s primary election, which was held on May 3, official election results showed.
Municipal income tax rate changes included:
- Athens, in Athens County, from 1.85% to 1.95% effective Jan. 1, 2023.
- Archbold, in Fulton County, from 1.5% to 1.8% effective Jan. 1, 2023.
- Mantua, in Portage County, from 1.5% to 2% effective July 1, 2022.
- Mt. Gilead, in Morrow County, from 1% to 1.25% effective Jan. 1, 2023.
The income tax increase in Athens will be in effect for 20 years, according to the ballot measure.
