South Carolina Announces Unemployment Insurance Rates for 2025

South Carolina released its 2025 unemployment insurance tax rates on the Department of Employment and Workforce website.

Tax rates for experienced employers will range from 0.06% to 5.46%, which includes a 0.06% contingency assessment, according to the website.

The rate for new employers is the same rate that applies for experienced employers assigned to Rate Class 12, according to the department. Consequently, the rate for new employers in 2025 will be 0.35%.

South Carolina’s unemployment-taxable wage base for 2025 is $14,000, according to the website.
