South Carolina Issues 2022 Unemployment Tax Rates

South Carolina’s unemployment tax rates are not to increase for 2022, the state Department of Employment and Workforce said Nov. 4.

Some tax rate classes are to be assessed the same tax rate for 2022 as in 2021, while other rate classes are to be assessed lower rates, the department said in a news release. Employers may be assigned different rate classes for 2022 depending on unemployment claim activity, it said.
