South Carolina’s unemployment insurance tax rates will remain unchanged or decrease for employers in 2024, according to a Nov. 6 press release from Gov. Henry McMaster (R).
Total unemployment tax rates for experienced employers will generally range from 0.06% to 1.576% and include a 0.06% contingency assessment, according to the state’s 2024 tax rate table. Delinquent employers will be assigned the Rate Class 20 rate of 5.46%, which also includes the contingency assessment.
