South Carolina’s 2026 withholding formula was released Nov. 5 by the state revenue department.
The highest tax rate used in the formula decreased to 6%, from 6.2%.
The value of a state allowance increased to $5,000 annually, up from $4,860, the department said. The maximum standard deduction increased to $7,500, from $7,300.
The 2026 Form SC W-4, South Carolina Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, was not immediately available, the department said in a news release.
