The hourly minimum wage in South Dakota is expected to rise to $11.85 from $11.50 effective Jan. 1, 2026, according to Bloomberg Tax calculations.
The minimum wage for tipped employees is expected to increase to $5.925 from $5.75, according to the calculations. Tipped employees are those in occupations in which they customarily and regularly receive at least $35 a month in tips.
The calculations were based on South Dakota law and federal data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
