Sept. 23, 2021, 3:12 PM UTC

South Dakota’s hourly minimum wage is to rise to $9.95 from $9.45 on Jan. 1, 2022, the Department of Labor and Regulation said Sept. 23 on its website.

The announcement confirms Bloomberg Tax’s Sept. 14 projection.

The state’s tipped-worker minimum cash wage is to rise to $4.975 from $4.725 in 2022, based on a state requirement that tipped employees be paid a cash wage of at least 50% of the state minimum wage.

The state minimum wage poster for 2022 is to be posted to the Department of Labor and Regulation’s website once it is available.
