SSA Filing Portal Registration Changes Start March 25

Changes to registration for the Social Security Administration’s Business Services Online portal are to take effect starting March 25, an SSA official said March 2.

Registration and authentication for BSO is to go through the login.gov or id.me systems, and any existing account with those two systems can be used to connect a BSO account, the SSA’s Matt Newton said during the Internal Revenue Service’s monthly payroll industry teleconference. Registered employers and payroll service providers are to receive emails about the changes in advance of the changeover, Newton said.
