A total of 28 Swedish municipalities decreased their municipal tax rates for 2022, while five increased theirs, Statistics Sweden said.
The average tax rate decreased slightly, to 20.67%, from 20.71% in 2021, the agency said in a news release. County tax rates, which are added to municipalities’ tax rates to determine a total tax rate, were unchanged from 2021, the agency said.
The lowest total tax rate, for Österåker, decreased by 0.1%, to 28.98% from 29.08%, while the highest total tax rate, for Dorothea, was unchanged at 35.15%, the agency said.
