The Swiss Federal Council Dec. 5 approved an ordinance amending the minimum wage rates, effective Jan. 1, 2026, for standard domestic worker employment contacts. The ordinance includes measures setting the hourly minimum wage rates at: 1) 20.35 Swiss francs (US$25.25) for unskilled workers; 2) 22.30 francs (US$27.67) for unskilled workers with at least four years of professional experience in domestic work; 3) 24.55 francs (US$30.46) for workers with a Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ); and 4) 22.30 francs (US$27.67) for workers with a Swiss Federal Vocational Certificate (EBA).
