Tennessee’s unemployment tax rates are unchanged for the second half of 2024, according to an update on the Labor and Workforce Development Department website.
Effective from July 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2024, tax rates for experienced employers are determined using Premium Table 6. Tax rates range from 0.01% to 2.3% for positive-rated employers and from 5% to 10% for negative-rated employers. Tennessee is the only state to determine experienced employer unemployment tax rates on a semiannual basis.
The unemployment-taxable wage base for 2024, which is determined on a calendar-year basis, remains $7,000, according to the website.
