Finalized unemployment tax rates for Texas are the same in 2021 as they were in 2020, a spokesman for the state Workforce Commission said June 24.
Total unemployment tax rates for experienced employers range from 0.31% to 6.31%, the spokesman told Bloomberg Tax in an email. The rates include a replenishment tax rate of 0.18%, an obligation assessment of 0.03%, and an employment training investment assessment of 0.1%.
The commission delayed finalizing unemployment tax rates for 2021 to determine the best method of reducing the impact of pandemic-related unemployment benefit claims on tax rates.
