Thai Wage Panel Approves Minimum Wage Hike in Bangkok from July

Thailand’s wage committee approved raising the daily minimum wage to 400 baht in Bangkok and for some businesses in other provinces, effective from July 1.

  • A meeting of the tripartite committee, which comprises representatives from the government and groups of employers and employees, also approved the decision based on discussions about economic situation, the cost of living and business operators’ ability, Labor Permanent Secretary Boonsong Thapchaiyut says in a statement on Tuesday
  • NOTE: Currently, the minimum wage in Bangkok is 372 baht
