Thailand Mulls Minimum Wage Rise of 5%-8% in October: Minister

Thailand’s government will consider boosting the country’s minimum wage by 5%-8% as early as October, accelerating the plan from early-2023, according to Labor Minister Suchart Chomklin.

  • The increase will be divided into 12 categories, and each province will have a different range depending on its economic condition
  • NOTE: Thailand’s last minimum wage increase was in January 2020, with daily rates ranging from 313 baht ($8.82) to 336 baht depending on province, according to Labor Ministry’s website
