Tokyo’s Hourly Minimum Wage to Exceed 1,000 Yen for First Time

Tokyo’s standard hourly minimum wage is to exceed 1,000 yen for the first time Oct. 1 when it rises to 1,013 yen (U.S. $9.47), up from 985 yen (U.S. $9.21), Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare said.

All 46 of Japan’s other prefectures also are to have an increased standard minimum wage taking effect in early October.
