Two Indiana counties increased their income tax rates effective Oct. 1, the state revenue department said Sept. 28.

Owen County’s rate is to rise to 2.5%, from 1.6%, and Warrick County’s rate is to rise to 1%, from 0.5%, the department said in a news release.

County tax rates are listed in Departmental Notice No. 1, which also contains the state income tax withholding method. The state method is unchanged from the previous version of the notice, which was effective Jan. 1, 2021.
