Utah Releases 2019 Unemployment Tax Rates, Wage Base

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Utah’s unemployment-taxable wage base is to be $35,300, up from $34,300 for 2018, the state Department of Workforce Services said Nov. 30 on its website.

For 2019, unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are to range from 0.1 percent to 7.1 percent, unchanged from 2018. Tax rates for new employers, including those that are contractors headquartered outside the state, are to range from 1.1 percent to 7.1 percent.
