Victoria Clarifies Payroll Tax Regional Rate Reduction

A March 20 ruling from the Australian state of Victoria’s State Revenue Office clarifies when an employer can benefit from the state’s payroll tax rate reduction for wages paid to employees in regional Victoria, especially those who work remotely.

Victoria allows a rate reduction when an employer pays 85% of its total taxable wages to employees in regional Victoria either in a financial year or in a month.
