Virginia’s hourly minimum wage will be rising to $12.77 from $12.41 for calendar year 2026, according to a July 24 letter published by the state Department of Labor and Industry.
The minimum wage is annually adjusted based on changes to the consumer price index, and it rose by 2.9%, according to the letter.
Virginia’s tipped minimum wage is $2.13, which is the same as that under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, according to a July 28 department press release. The increase in the state minimum means that the maximum tip credit will increase to $10.64 from $10.28. ...
