Washington Confirms Minimum Wage Increase for 2026

The hourly minimum wage in Washington will increase to $17.13 from $16.66 effective Jan. 1, 2026, the Labor and Industries Department said Sept. 30.

The department also announced an increase to the state minimum salary threshold for overtime-exempt employees, which confirms all of Bloomberg Tax’s Sept. 12 calculations. The minimum salary threshold for 2026 will be $1,541.70 per week, or $80,168.40 annually, for all employers, according to the department’s news release.
