Washington Farm-Worker Overtime Bill Sent to Governor

Washington dairy and agricultural workers would be eligible for overtime pay under a bill that is to be considered by Gov. Jay Inslee (D).

The measure (S.B. 5172) passed the state House on April 9.

Under the bill, the existing overtime exemption for agricultural employees would apply until Dec. 31, 2021, after which overtime pay rules would be phased in for certain agricultural employees.
