Washington Proposes Increases to White-Collar Salary Threshold

The minimum salary that Washington workers must receive to be exempt from minimum wage and overtime requirements would rise incrementally to 2.5 times the minimum wage by 2026 under proposed rules issued June 5 by the state’s Department of Labor and Industries.

A comment period on the proposed rules opens June 5 and ends Sept. 6, 2019, the department said. The rule is expected to be adopted in late 2019.
