Wells Fargo Loses Bid to Appeal Investor Class Status on Hiring

Wells Fargo & Co. won’t get immediate review of an investor class that was approved in a suit over diversity hiring practices, the Ninth Circuit decided.

The investors allege Wells Fargo misled them over a diverse hiring policy while conducting sham interviews with minority candidates, prompting a stock decline when news outlets exposed the conduct. The case will proceed in the district court after the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit rejected the bank’s petition for an appeal Thursday in a one-page order.
