Wisconsin is exempting Minor League Baseball players from its minimum wage and overtime laws, under an act effective Dec. 11.
Players are exempt as long as they are covered under a collective bargaining agreement that expressly provides for their wages and working conditions, under Act 77. Minor League Baseball players are currently covered under such a collective bargaining agreement.
Employers of the players are also not required to maintain records relating to their hours of employment, under the act.
Wisconsin has two Minor League Baseball teams, the Beloit Sky Carp and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
