Australia’s Albanese, Trump Talk Security, Critical Minerals

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had a “warm and constructive” call with US President Donald Trump, he wrote in an X post.

The two leaders talked about critical minerals, as well as their trade and economic relationship, Albanese wrote. They also discussed shared US-Australia security issues, he said.

The Pentagon is currently reviewing the Biden-era Aukus pact, under which the US would develop nuclear-powered submarines with Australia and the UK.
