Truck maker PACCAR Inc., parent company of the Kenworth and Peterbilt nameplates, will lay off 175 employees in its Sainte-Therese, Que.-plant over weakening demand, according to a news release sent by a local union of Unifor.
- “These layoffs will take effect starting August 4 and are in addition to the 250 others announced last December,” Unifor said. “In an uncertain economic climate, exacerbated in part by US tariffs, the company has seen its production decline.”
