Akerman LLP expanded its Tax Practice Group with partner Erika Labelle in Denver, according to the law firm Tuesday.

Labelle represents public and private businesses in transactional tax, REIT, and controversy matters, focusing on corporate and partnership tax planning and structuring, according to Akerman. She also represents business entities in federal controversy matters with the Internal Revenue Service, Akerman said.

“Erika boosts our capacity across a range of tax matters that intersect with our national corporate, real estate, and bankruptcy and restructuring teams,” Peter Larsen, chair of Akerman’s Tax Practice Group, said in a news release.

Labelle, who served as the co-leader of the U.S. Tax Group of her last firm, is the sixth partner to join Akerman’s national tax team in six months, according to the law firm.
