Amazon Taps Williams & Connolly, Covington to Fight FTC Suit (1)

Williams & Connolly and Covington & Burling are leading Amazon.com Inc.'s defense in its new antitrust battle with the US Federal Trade Commission.

Williams & Connolly’s Heidi Hubbard, co-chair of the law firm’s civil litigation and trial practice group, is leading the team along with lawyers from Covington, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Williams & Connolly declined to discuss the matter. A spokesman for Covington did not immediately return a request for comment.

The FTC and 17 US states brought the antitrust lawsuit against Amazon in federal court in Seattle on Sept. 26. The agency alleges that ...
