Asbury Adds Ex-EY Principal Mesler as Senior Counsel (Correct)

July 11, 2022, 4:05 PM UTC

Mark Mesler, a retired Ernst & Young principal, has joined Asbury Law Firm as senior counsel, according to the firm Monday.

Mesler led the tax controversy practice for Central and Southeast United States while at EY, according to Asbury.

He has focused on IRS administrative practice and procedure, according to the law firm. Mesler has experience working with the IRS on matters such as the defense of the transfer pricing disputes and the abatement of penalties asserted against individuals. He serves clients and their tax departments as an adviser and strategist. Messler also regularly mentors the Asbury’s associate attorneys on topics such as tax administration, reporting obligations, and IRS investigatory powers.

(Second paragraph corrected to reflect that Mesler led the tax controversy practice at EY for the Central and Southeast United States, not Asia.)
