President Joe Biden embarks on his second year in office with one global crisis (the pandemic) fading and another (Russia’s invasion of Ukraine) escalating. Previously, his administration oversaw a robust economic recovery that veered into inflationary overdrive, stressing consumers with higher prices for everything from housing and food to cars and gasoline. Biden’s legislative agenda scored a successful infrastructure spending package, then stalled with the demise of his $2 trillion Build Back Better plan.
