California’s Challenge to Anti-Tax Measure Must Wait, Group Says

A measure on California’s November 2024 statewide ballot would make incremental changes to well-established principles for voter approval of tax increases, and legal challenges to its validity should take place after election day, an anti-tax group backing the measuretold the California Supreme Court on Wednesday.

The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association said the court must reject an emergency petition from Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and Democratic lawmakers to remove the measure from the ballot.
