Energy Department Boosts Study of Removing Carbon From Air

The Energy Department is ramping up research to cut the cost of and improve on technologies for sucking carbon directly from the air, a top fossil energy official said Aug. 7.

A number of economic and technical analyses of direct air capture systems are underway at the department, John Litynski, deputy director of advanced fossil technology systems, said at a United States Energy Association briefing.
