An EU Commission official held strong the bloc’s commitment to imposing the 15% global minimum tax on US companies, even amid retaliatory threats from President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers.
“The European Union remains committed to implementing the OECD’s global minimum tax rules, despite the United States’s withdrawal,” Vice-President of the European Commission Teresa Ribera said Wednesday. She made the remarks during a hearing with the Conference of Committee Chairs of the European Parliament.
