Gavin Newsom Seeks $7.5 Billion Hollywood Aid, Trump Accord

California Governor Gavin Newsom called for federal tax credits of at least $7.5 billion and a partnership with the Donald Trump White House to help bring more filmmaking to the US.

Responding to the US president’s proposed tariffs on foreign-made movies, Newsom suggested the best path is to build on California’s established practices and Hollywood leadership to attract more productions to the country.
