HILL TAX BRIEF: Warren Demands Retraction from Treasury Watchdog

Two liberal Democratic lawmakers are demanding a Treasury Department watchdog retract and review a report examining the so-called revolving door between large accounting firms and government service, calling it an “irresponsible whitewash.”

The investigation did not take into account “obvious evidence of serious revolving door conflicts of interest,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) wrote in a letter to Treasury’s Office of the Inspector General.
