The Kazakh Ministry of Finance Aug. 18 opened a consultation on the 2024-2026 budget bill. The bill includes measures to, from Jan. 1, 2024: 1) set the monthly minimum wage at 70,000 Kazakh tenges (US$151); 2) increase the monthly subsistence minimum for the calculation of basic social payments to 43,407 tenges (US$93) from 40,567 tenges (US$87); 3) increase the minimum state basic pension payment to 28,215 tenges (US$60) from 24,371 (US$52) in 2023; 4) increase the minimum pension for age and years of service to 57,853 tenges (US$124) from 53,076 (US$114) in 2023; and 5) set state contributions to compulsory ...
