KPMG Veteran Joins Sheppard Mullin as Chicago Energy Tax Partner

Julie Marion has joined Sheppard Mullin as a partner on the energy, infrastructure, and project finance team and the tax, employee benefits, and trusts and estates practice group in Chicago, the firm said Monday.

Marion, who joins from KPMG, has federal income tax experience and structures renewable energy projects, including credit qualification, front-end project financing, and monetization of federal tax credits through tax equity structures and transferability/direct pay elections, according to Sheppard Mullin.

She advises clients on the federal income tax aspects of complex partnership transactions, joint venture investments, business acquisitions, and related financing matters, said the firm.
