The NCAA prevailed in an antitrust suit brought by members of the 2008 Kansas Jayhawks national championship men’s basketball team who claim the organization unlawfully used their name, image, and likeness.
Judge Paul A. Engelmayer of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York in a Monday order granted the NCAA its motion to dismiss with prejudice, saying the plaintiffs’ claims were time-barred by the four-year antitrust statute of limitations.
