Seeking 2022 Tax Tips for Bloomberg Tax and Accounting Insights

December 7, 2021, 8:04 PM UTC

It’s that time again: Planning for next year!

At Bloomberg Tax & Accounting Insights, we want to give our readers a look into what to expect in 2022 to start the year off right. So, we’re asking those best positioned to give advice: You.

Our Insights typically offer inside views and expert analysis of current events and issues in tax practice and policy, including recent tax trends and topics, Tax Court cases and IRS regulations, and firm practice and management. Articles feature original analysis, helpful insights, and thoughtful opinions. Ultimately, we’re looking for the best submissions to keep our readers ahead in their practice.

What We’re Seeking

This year, we’re doing things a little differently. We’re focusing on tax planning at year-end by running a series of smaller, impactful pieces.

We’re looking for submissions in any of these five categories:

  • Individual
  • Business
  • International
  • Payroll/Employment
  • Firm Management

Details

Articles will be published the last week in December, so keep that timeline in mind. We’re focusing on what tax practitioners should focus on as 2022 rolls out. That would include tax planning tips, compliance and controversy topics impacting clients in 2022, upcoming tax law and rules changes, and your process suggestions—like changes to intake forms, hiring, and billing. While brevity is important, we still want insightful analysis with supporting documentation, if appropriate—we do link to sources.

We’ll publish around 5-7 submissions in each category.

Editorial Guidelines

We value quality and consistency. For this series, articles should be no more than 200 words—compact, but full of good information. Feel free to use hyperlinks to link to resources, like IRS publications, that would be useful.

And, works must be original: We do not publish articles that have been or will appear elsewhere.

Getting Noticed

We want our authors to stand out. Here are some helpful tips:

  • Bylines: Let us know your name exactly as you want it to appear, including initials.
  • Biographical information: Please submit a brief bio, ideally 1-2 sentences, with your submission.
  • We may shorten bios because of space limitations.
  • Author photo: Please provide a headshot in color (gif or jpeg).

Submissions and Editorial Process

Our goal is to help make the submission and editorial process efficient and straightforward. If we’re moving ahead with your submissions, we will send you an author agreement. We won’t publish without a signed author agreement.

Our edit team will review your article to ensure that the piece is clear, conversational, and compelling. We’ll return an edited version to you for review—and a chance to make any changes—before publication.

Publication

Insights are published outside the paywall on The Exchange, as well as a variety of Bloomberg Tax & Accounting sites like Daily Tax Report. We’ll be doing a special roundup of tips and sharing on social and in our newsletters.

After publication, we’ll send you a link to the article for easy sharing and distribution.
