The UK government says it will write national sustainability reporting standards next year closely based on International Sustainability Standards Board rules, with no mention of the EU’s much broader reporting requirements.
The Department for Business and Trade said Wednesday that UK rules would “only divert from the global baseline if absolutely necessary,” referring to the ISSB. The business minister will decide whether to endorse the global body’s rules by July next year to create UK Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
