IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said he is prioritizing a set of high-impact—and high-visibility—initiatives in the face of continued political headwinds threatening future funding cuts.
Asked what the plan is if funding were to be reduced, he said the agency planned to prioritize efforts such as taxpayer interface initiatives and tax scam and fraud enforcement efforts against larger companies and wealthy taxpayers.
