UAE in Last-Minute Talks To Avoid EU Tax Haven Blacklist

The United Arab Emirates, Bermuda, and several other jurisdictions are holding last-minute negotiations with the European Union to avoid being added to the bloc’s tax haven blacklist.

Others intensely engaged in last-minute discussions to fend off being on the blacklist ahead of a March 12 meeting of EU finance ministers include the Cook Islands and Turkey. The bloc’s finance ministers will discuss updates to the list as part of efforts to flag jurisdictions it deems non-cooperative for tax purposes.
