Austria’s Kogler Seeks Inheritance Tax to Fund Virus Damage: TT

Austrian Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler hopes for a rethink of an inheritance tax to fund the economic recovery following the coronavirus epidemic, according to an interview in Tiroler Tageszeitung.

  • “I do hope that the corona-shock will lead to a rethink in Austria,” Kogler is quoted as saying. “Taxing large wealth transfers is reasonable because it doesn’t hurt economic growth and is a fair contribution to funding the aftermath after the crisis.”
