The European Commission published a technical update to the carbon border adjustment mechanism, also known as CBAM, that keeps confidential the registry in which companies make their declarations.
The update, published Dec. 30, provides technical details on how the registry will function, including managing certificates, declarations and procedures registration for companies that are subject to the scheme. A collection of European industries had called for greater transparency to the register during public consultations in November last year.
