PwC Australia Won’t Be Blacklisted for Data Breach, Agency Says (1)

PwC Australia will not be blacklisted in the wake of a data breach, but the firm’s future involvement in confidential consultations is uncertain, Australian tax officials told Parliament on Wednesday.

Greens Party Senators have called for Pricewaterhouse Coopers to be declared ineligible for government contracts after its former international tax adviser, Peter Collins, was found to have leaked confidential information on the government’s multinational anti-avoidance plans. Collins has been barred for two years by the national Tax Practitioners Board.

The leaks began in early 2016 during confidential consultations on Australia’s Multinational Anti-Avoidance Law, Australian Tax Office Second Commissioner Jeremy Hirschhorn ...
