Spain’s parliament Thursday canceled a vote on a bill to transpose a European directive to establish a global minimum tax, as support crumbled for the government’s efforts to amend the proposal with new tax measures.
Spain, alongside Cyprus, Poland, and Portugal, was referred in October to the Court of Justice by the European Commission for its failure to transpose the European Union’s minimum tax directive by the Dec. 31, 2023, deadline.
